In line with its policy to support sustainable development objectives in the UAE, the Ministry of Finance participates in many local and international activities and events. It also organises financial forums that contribute to improving the performance of the financial sector and the quality of the Ministry’s services to ensure sustainable development and social welfare.
These activities include GITEX Technology Week, the largest technology exhibition in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia. Each year, MoF participates in this event in the UAE Government pavilion, where it sheds light on its most prominent projects in the field of financial services technology. MoF also organises the Arab Fiscal Forum as part of the World Government Summit events, at which the prospects of monetary and fiscal policies in the Arab region are reviewed and the latest challenges and financial developments are discussed by leading regional experts.
In addition, the Ministry participates in UAE Innovation Month, the largest national event to celebrate innovation and innovators in the country, through an agenda of activities, lectures, dialogues and workshops aimed at promoting a culture of innovation among young people. MoF activities and events attract all segments of society and achieve great success as they engage a large audience that includes customers, partners and government and private institutions.
In line with its commitment to implement and practise the concept of social responsibility through the adoption of activities and initiatives aimed to serve the community, MoF launched a community initiative targeting outdoor workers, in which MoF employees volunteered to distribute water and cold drinks to workers in Dubai.
The Ministry organised a "Ministry of Finance Ramadan” gathering, which brought employees together for a communal iftar amidst an atmosphere of joy and congeniality.
The Ministry of Finance organised a series of initiatives and events during Ramadan, the most prominent of which was the "Ramadan is Tolerance" initiative targeting 1,000 workers in the Muhaisnah area of Dubai. This initiative involved the provision of suhoor meals during the last ten days of Ramadan, in line with the spirit and values of the blessed month and the call for acts of goodwill to strengthen communication and spread compassion between different segments of society.
The Ministry of Finance organised a lecture on "Family Relations in the Work Environment", attended by a large number of employees, to celebrate the month of love, affinity and interdependence. It was presented by Captain Mohammed Sulaiman Mohammed Al Shehhi from the Social Support Centre - Abu Dhabi Police General Command.
The Ministry of Finance organised a religious lecture entitled "Tolerance in Islam" on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan and in accordance with the Year of Tolerance. It was presented by Dr Mahmoud Tawfiq Mohammed from the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments in Abu Dhabi and was attended by a group of Ministry staff from different nationalities to learn about the values and principles of tolerance in Islam.
The Ministry of Finance organised a special "Happiness Day" for employees at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, as part of its support of the UAE government's vision. Activities at both venues included a session to promote positive energy, a meditation workshop, as well as a session to analyse one’s personality through art. The Ministry is keen to promote happiness and positivity in its work environment and to establish these values as a way of life and a work approach.
The Ministry's teams participated in a number of sports activities in an energetic atmosphere as part of their support for the values of the National Sports Day, which started with the affirmation that practising sports collectively helps everyone to communicate better and spreads happiness.
The Ministry’s team visited the Fatima Bint Mubarak School to present Sheikh Zayed's e-book to school students at various levels. This book takes readers on an interesting and innovative virtual tour of Sheikh Zayed's life.
The Ministry of Finance celebrated UAE Women's Day, in cooperation with the General Women's Union, in recognition of the pivotal role of Emirati women, their unlimited efforts in various fields, and their outstanding contribution to community building and the advancement of the UAE.
The Ministry's team organised a variety of activities for people of determination in the UAE, including sports, cultural and recreational activities, creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm, joy and happiness. More than 300 people of different ages and nationalities participated in the event to communicate and spread positivity.
The Ministry of Finance participated in the "Sidreh of Wishes" initiative, launched by the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation, which aimed to make 1,000 individual wishes come true for orphans attached to the Foundation. The Ministry's participation in the campaign resulted in the realisation of 20 orphans' wishes.
The Ministry of Finance supported the Emirates Red Crescent society’s "For Your Sake, Somalia" campaign, with Ministry staff collecting donations, following the approach of the UAE’s founding father Sheikh Zayed to establish good values and give a helping hand to those less fortunate.
The Ministry of Finance, in coordination with the Blood Bank, organised a blood donation drive at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi, which was attended by employees of the Ministry and the Federal Customs Authority. The campaign was in line with the framework of the Ministry's contributions to the "Year of Giving" initiatives. HE Younis Haji Al Khouri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, assistant undersecretaries, departmental directors and employees of the Ministry all participated, emphasizing the Ministry's commitment to its social responsibility and the foundations of humanitarian and charitable work.
For the third consecutive year, the Ministry of Finance organised an environmental beach clean-up in the Al Rideem area of the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi. HE Younis Haji Al Khouri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, along with Department Directors and Ministry, participated in this annual campaign, which aims to preserve the natural environment of the UAE, in particular the marine environment, and provides an opportunity to spread awareness of the culture of environmental care and respect that has been adopted by the country.
The Ministry of Finance organised a campaign to assist the people of Syria’s Aleppo, in coordination with the Emirates Red Crescent society, and collected donations from Ministry staff in each of its headquarters in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
The Ministry of Finance held its "Women and Innovation" Forum in Dubai as part of its participation in the UAE Women's Day celebrations. These highlighted the efforts of the country in general, and the Ministry in particular, in empowering women at various levels. The Forum targeted new female employees in the Ministry, as well as university and college students enrolled in the Masaar Scholarship Programme sponsored by the Ministry of Finance.
HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance, launched an internal initiative under the name of "Happiest Ministry". This includes a series of targeted programmes in line with the country's strategy, programmes and policies to improve overall happiness in society, raise the level of satisfaction and happiness amongst MoF staff, and develop services that contribute to the happiness of Ministry customers, thereby contributing to the government's drive to strengthen the UAE's position on the World Happiness index.
