, Financial circular released for ’13 budget
In line with efforts to prepare the general federal budget and the budgets for independent parties for the Financial Year 2013, which represents the third year of the medium-term plan for 2011-2013, Obaid Humaid Al Tayer, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, has released a financial circular regarding preparations for the 2013 federal budget project to both federal entities and independent bodies. The initiative follows the UAE Cabinet’s Resolution No. (1/181) issued in the year 2008.
It also follows UAE Cabinet Resolution No. (1/73) for the year 2009, which focuses on services and highlights the usage of zero-budgeting systems in preparing for a medium-term plan for 2011-2013 to reflect MoF’s strategic goals in providing the highest returns for financial resources, publishing transparent financial reports, ensuring the optimum use of Federal resources through effective management practices, applying sound financial policies, and achieving positive results and sustainable development for the local community.

, UAE announces Dh41b budget for 2012
Abu Dhabi: The Cabinet approved the draft Federal Budget for 2012, which amounted to Dh41.4 billion in revenue and an expenditure of Dh41.8 billion.
This came during the Cabinet meeting chaired by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, and Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, were also present.
The budget focuses on the social services sector with an allocation of Dh19.7 billion, followed by the education sector with an allocation of Dh8.2 billion.

, MoF to Display its Latest E-Services at GITEX
In line with its efforts to take part in prominent UAE events and to present its latest technologies and services on local and international levels, the Ministry of Finance (MoF) has announced that the preparations for its participation in the upcoming GITEX Technology Week 2011 are well underway. Taking place from October 9 to 13, the event will be held at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre

, UAE hosts Exceptional Meeting for the Council of Arab Ministers of Finance in Abu Dhabi
The UAE’s capital city hosted the Exceptional Meeting for the Council of Arab Ministers of Finance today in Emirates Palace, headed by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance. The meeting was attended by delegations from all 22 Arab states and aimed at highlighting the latest economical, political and social developments in the Arab world and their implications on the region.
